Terms & conditions
Please read these terms before booking a course. By booking your place, you agree to them.
1. Cancellation
It is not possible to cancel a course after enrolment except in circumstances deemed exceptional by The Cottage Training Centre.
2. Deposits
Deposit fees are non-refundable and non-transferable, unless circumstances are deemed exceptional by The Cottage Training Centre.
3. Course fees
Course fees are due on the first day of training, or any time before it.
4. Payment methods
Payment plans can be arranged for courses over £500, to help you spread the cost of training. More detail on request.
Booking on this website, you pay your deposit by card at the checkout, and the balance on your training day. Gift vouchers are paid in full. Card payments are handled by Square, the same card processor the centre already uses - your card details go to them and are never seen or held by us.
5. Course cancellation by us
It is our ethos not to cancel courses, even with low numbers. In the event of a cancellation due to exceptional circumstances, we will always arrange other dates with you.
6. Loyalty discount
We offer a 10% loyalty discount on most courses after your first course attended. We also offer discounts on group bookings and multiple course bookings - more details on request.
7. Course criteria and assessments
If it is determined that you have not met the course criteria and passed the assessments to the required standard, you will be required to re-attend the assessment at a future date. There is no charge for an additional assessment; if you fail a second time, additional charges of £50.00 per future assessment will apply.
If you fail any part of an assessment and the tutor deems it unsafe and lacking competency to continue, you will not be permitted to proceed further in the course. If you are unable to continue with the course due to failing an assessment, the fees paid are not refundable. Our priority is to ensure safety and competency during the training.
8. Course completion timeframe
All courses must be completed within two years of the date of enrolment. Failure to do so may require repayment and re-registration, incurring the full course fee for Ofqual and CPD courses.
9. English proficiency
Meeting course entry or admission requirements is essential. If English is not your first language, you will be required to provide sufficient qualifications in English language proficiency.
10. Agreement
By booking your place on a course with The Cottage Training Centre, you confirm that you have read, understood and agreed to these terms and conditions.
Booking online
These sections cover booking and paying on this website, alongside the terms above.
11. When the agreement is made
Adding a course to your basket does not book it. The agreement is made when your deposit is paid and we confirm your place.
12. Changing your mind
If you have booked online and want to cancel, send us a message or email traininginbeauty@outlook.com. We will not refuse a request to cancel on the basis of section 1 alone: it will be dealt with person to person.
13. What you see before you book
Before you pay, the course page and your basket show what the course is, what it costs including VAT, the deposit and when the balance falls due, any assessment fee and kit you will need to buy, when and where it runs, and who we are and how to reach us.
14. Your rights
Nothing in these terms affects your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. If a course is not carried out with reasonable care and skill, those rights apply whatever this page says.
Any questions about any of this, ask us - we would rather answer them before you book than after.
